Topic: How Google Introduces a Culture of Innovation to New Hires – Our Expert Shares His Secrets! - May 11, 2019

Google has been praised as a fantastic place to work, and so much of that comes from establishing and maintaining a culture that promotes growth and supports excellence. In this deep-dive presentation, you will experience a small piece of how Google introduces a culture of innovation to Nooglers (i.e. new-Googlers). We will take a hands-on approach to design thinking practices through the lens of a technology company. And, we will have some fun!

ISPI-LA Lunch-and-Learn Meetings

ISPI-LA and CraneMorley Inc., are co-sponsoring a monthly series of "Lunch and Learns" on X-Reality in the offices of CraneMorley and the Microsoft Technology Center. Our goal is to help demystify XR and equip you with the information and "hands-on" experience you need to make the best practical decisions when considering adopting these new tools.  For additional information, click below.

In this, the first of our deeper dive sessions, you will experience both 360VR video and 3D graphics-based virtual reality. You will receive “hands on” experience with a range of devices, including:

• Cardboard/Phone viewer

• Tethered, such as Oculus Rift and Lenovo Mirage

• Untethered, such as Oculus Go and just released Quest

You will learn from case studies and more about the development process for both types of VR.

We are especially excited with the potential of the new, inexpensive, untethered devices as an opportunity to introduce XR into your curriculum at low risk and cost.

What does "Learning in the Flow of Work" really mean?
Why are professionals considering moving from "Knowledge-Based to Performance-Based" Learning Systems?
Are you Interested?

If so, so you just might want to participate in an upcoming ISPI-LA Lunch-and-Learn meeting.

"Learning in the Flow of Work" as well as "Moving from Knowledge-based learning to Performance-Based learning" are the two themes of our new ISPI-LA Lunch-and-Learn meetings.

Every other month on a Tuesday, in the Long Beach office of CraneMorley, we'll interact with a presentation from a practicing expert in the field that illustrates real-world examples of these themes. We'll also meet with other peers in our field, enjoy a complimentary lunch, and get a chance to professionally grow.

To register: Just go to ISPI-LA and register.

We have limited space, so our Lunch-and-Learn meetings fill-up quickly. What are you waiting for?

The Breakfast Series meets the first Friday of every month, from 7:30 to 9:00 AM. Our format is the Text Study RoundTable. The cost is free for ATD-LA and ISPI-LA members. First time attendees or first-time guests are also free! There is a $10 charge for non-members. Enjoy a continental breakfast of bagels and coffee/tea.

The ATD-LA chapter selects and provides exciting and informative monthly speakers on alternate months. If you'd like to suggest a speaker/topic or you are interested in sharing your case studies, expertise or professional experience - please contact Anthony Markovich. Email:

Text Study RoundTable

This format is an exciting new practice in real-time participatory democracy. A few minutes are spent reading a selected article from a leading publication on cutting-edge ideas in our field. Participants then express their thoughts and experiences on the topic, time divided equally among all present. Come explore with us!

The GEMS Text Study RoundTable format is provided by Sue Gabriele, President, and Owner, Gabriele Educational Materials and Systems.

Breakfast Series Location
