Diagnostic Expertise & The Positive Return Successful Traveler™ Workshop

Saturday, Nov 11, 2017

Time: 9:00am - 1:00pm

Presentation 1: Diagnostic Expertise: A Challenge for Learning Designers Working in the Healthcare Industry

"Talent development professionals typically experience a competitive advantage if they have experience in an industry and with its subject-matter. Clients benefit from decreased onboarding and acculturation times."

In this session, we'll focus on the unique challenges learning designers face when working in the healthcare industry, challenging designers' assumptions about how to craft optimal learning experiences for healthcare audiences and its parallel to disciplines like flying an airplane.

Be prepared to discover best practices for balancing healthcare's need for data, detail, and references with sound learning and instructional design. In addition, discover how to foster interpersonal relationships and build credibility with healthcare stakeholders and subject-matter experts through recognizing the importance of both theory and practical experience in healthcare education. "
