Ray is the author of 3-Minute e-Learning, Scenario-based eLearning, Micro-Learning Applications and Impacts and Story Impacts – Using Stories and Systems to Impact Performance, and Story Impacts. He is a consultant to Phillips 66, Progressive Insurance, Pacific Gas and Electric, Ashford University, Pixar, US Air Force, NASA, Caltech and others.

Ray is a lecturer at the University of California, Irvine, Hong Kong Open University and University of Texas. He is a designer and software architect of award-winning eLearning courses and learning systems. Workshop participants describe Ray as “fun”, “engaging” and “provocative.”

In this fast-moving session, presentation designer Brian Rooney will review simple steps that anyone can do to make their next PowerPoint far more effective and compelling using visual design, narrative and plain old common sense. A good presentation can be as compelling as a great documentary and truly motivate action, but it takes proper planning and execution.

Brian will cover the techniques that the Fortune 500 use to make their presentations compelling. With billions in market share on the line, these elite companies won’t risk visual communication that falls flat. Neither should you. Your next presentation can look as good as one from America’s best companies.Following a demo of best practices, Mr. Rooney will share some how-to’s in a hands-on format. Those interested should bring their laptop with PowerPoint. Mac users can replicate the same techniques using Keynote, but the steps will be different.
